 Alexei Petrenko about himself:

"I was born in Crimea to a family of artists and was taught to paint almost before I could walk. When I was thirteen, one of my paintings won an award in a competition in Paris. That painting now hangs in the private collection of Jacques Cousteau, the French under-water explorer.

Since graduating from an art college in 1997, I have established myself as an artist with my own distinctive style. Working mainly in oils, watercolour and Indian-ink pen, my work is characterised by fine detail and very sensitive appreciation of colour. This can be seen in my paintings of landscapes and still life, where I aim to succeed in capturing natural beauty onto canvas.

I have pictures in private collections in Greece, France, Australia, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, USA and Britain."

Nowadays Alexei Petrenko is based in Kiev, Ukraine, but often works from UK.
